Never sign an As-is warranty when buying a used car. It can be a very bad choice. The minimum you should accept is a 30 to 90-day warranty. If you have issues a month after the car is yours, you have to fix them.
If there is minor work that needs to be done on the car, factor that in to the price. Even if the blemishes will not affect vehicle performance, you will still want to have them repaired. Unfortunately, you might be surprised how much it costs to do so.
Talk to a bank about a loan before going to the dealer. A great car is a nice investment, and taking out a bank loan is more affordable than dealing with the dealership. The interest rate charged by the bank will be minimal in comparison. Steer clear of car dealers with poor looking lots. These days, a number of dealers are selling vehicles that are not roadworthy. If the dealership looks suspicious, just head to the next one.
